Author Elizabeth Lymer has released a new children’s book, Hector Hectricity and the Missing Socks. Illustrated by Azra Momin and published by Aneesa Books, it’s a delight to see yet another children’s book publication with Muslim characters, and not only Muslim characters, but Muslim characters of mixed ethnic heritage. I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy, and, inshaa’Allah, a review is forthcoming!
Calm days for the Parack family, filled with soft songs and peaceful
picnics, are disrupted by hectic mornings because socks keep vanishing in their new home. Will Mummy’s prayers lead to peace and paired socks again?
A fun story for young children that shows how praying to Allah SWT, asking for help from others, and taking a good walk outdoors can help to overcome a sock monster.
